About the Bearcat Band & Color Guard
The PRHS Band Program is pleased to welcome several new staff members. We are pleased to be able to have Sean Sullivan return as our percussion instructor for the year. Sean teaches with the Drum School 101 also during the week when he’s not here with us. We’re glad to have him on board! Sarah Gage will be continuing her position as the Color Guard director this year. We are also fortunate to be able to bring Sonny Galvan, the new Flamson MS Band Director in to work with the band both during band camp and through out marching season coming on board to help us look sharper on the field. Welcome to the Bearcat Band family!
The PRHS Band organization is comprised of the Paso Robles High School Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Color Guard, Drumline, Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble. The PRHS Band program is one of the largest student organizations on campus. Every band member puts in hundreds of hours of rehearsal to better themselves and the ensemble as a whole. In doing so they learn the value of hard work, dedication, and teamwork.
The Bearcat Marching Band & Color Guard performs for every home football game, the Homecoming Parade, the Pioneer Day Parade, the Paso Robles Christmas Parade, and the Vine Street Showcase Parade. The group also performs by request for local businesses and charitable organizations. The marching band and color guard will travel hundreds of miles across the state of California to Marching Competitions. In addition to their local accomplishments, the Bearcat Marching Band & Color Guard performed in the 2007 Holiday Bowl festivities in San Diego. We performed at the halftime of the Holiday Bowl game and competing in the Parade and Field Show competitions.
The PRHS Band Backers is an organization of band and color guard parents that facilitate fundraising and offer volunteer services for the PRHS Band. When the Paso Robles Public School District is unable to fully support the PRHS Band program, the PRHS Band Backers swing into action. The Band Backers have regular meetings the 2nd Monday of each month in the PRHS Band room at 6:00 p.m.
The PRHS Band is more than just a musical ensemble. It’s a family of students, parents, teachers, and patrons. Most of all, it’s the hometown band of Paso Robles, CA!
This site is independently operated by the PRHS Band Backers. The content contained within this site does not necessarily represent the opinions or views of the Paso Robles Public School District.

Welcome back for another exciting year! Band Camp was a big success. This year’s show - Gangsta’ Jazz - looks (& sounds) like it will be very exciting. We will be going to three competitions this year and have five home games through the football season.
The band did outstanding in their first competition at Atascadero’s Colony Day Parade & Field Show, winning the “Choice of the Colony” award for the Parade and First Place, High G.E., High Percussion & High Color Guard in class AA.
The itinerary for Saturday’s Lemoore competition is available on the Trips Page. See the Band Calendar for the most recent updates on the scheduled events during the year!
We are in need of parent volunteers to continue the ongoing assistance the Band Backers provide to keep the band program functioning. Please join us the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 in the HS band room. We will cover the game day expectations and answer any questions parents might have about what the kids will be doing throughout the night.
