Kalu Rinpoche’s monastery is below Darjeeling. under the shadow of the towering Himalayas, Mountain clouds keep the place shrouded in mystery. We came to take the blessing of the previous Kalu’s Kudong. His sacred body was preserved in an ornate stupa.

Entering the gate, we were made to feel so welcome
Our first agenda was to see the sacred stupa.
The death mask is so lifelike, it is as if he was looking out at us.

To visit with Lama Gyaltsen’s mom. She had been sick just a few months ago, he spent two months with her.
She was delighted to meet some of Lama-la’s students and friends from far away. We were delighted to meet her.
