A good deal of the success of our time in Bhutan was due to the excellent care of Rinzing. The older sister of Kalu Rinpoche, Rinzing was not only our travel agent but also our hostess and friend. She arranged for us to stay at Kalu Rinpoche’s Bhutan residence, very close to her home so she could be sure that we were well taken care of.
Rinzing, Dolkar and the Uma
It is always fun to hear the stories of Richard Gere’s visits. We had dinner at Rinzing’s one night and zoomed in on this photo on the wall. Kalu Rinpoche is sitting behind Rinzing and Richard.
The lineage of Kalu Rinpoche is very important in Rinzing’s life. On the wall behind her are pictures of Bokar Rinpoche and a recent photo of Kalu
Rinzing and her beloved husband, Sonam
Their adorable children Sonam Rinzin and Pema Zangmo.

Dinner at Rinzing’s house we met Pem (on the left) A former minister’s daughter, deep dharma practitioner, Pem expressed interest in learning the Tara Dance.
Dolkar, Rinzing’s mother arrived in Bhutan just before we left. It was a great joy to see her again.
We all met at our fabulous hotel in Paro.
The Uma Hotel, Five Star all the way
We adored breakfast in the marvelous dining room
