Prema’s 60th Part 2
It was so much fun to have my friends visiting me. All the way from Kihei we have Ane, Sappho, Dechen and Barbara. Sappho is 87 and was very brave to come up our road
My dear neighbor, Richard Brush, provided a ferry service for many guests stranded on the steep road.
The food was plentiful and delicious
The deck filled with happy eaters
Lois and Joel found a spot in the grass. Lena and Jack created many nooks for folks to sit and enjoy
I went to my shrine room to make prayers and to give the hardy hikers prayer flags to hang for me. This Tara was give to me by Lama Tenzin years ago
It was a long walk up the hill to prayer rock where I requested prayer flags to be hung for me.
Hikers took the blessing of our Kanaio Stupa

The temple was open
Guru Rinpoche offered his blessings as well
Yes it is that steep but keep going the view is worth it
Almost there. Prayer rock has been adorned with flags for over 30 years
As I said, the view is worth the steep hike
Lena is ecstatic
Down the Hill, time to dance Tara by the pond
Such a divine blessing
We reach for the highest
We concentrate our prayers
oh my, the sun is setting quick quick down the hill

But not every body went down the hill. Some friends stayed, we made a big fire
Lena and Jack were busy the next few days. They hung Ave and Aaron’s beautiful silk painted curtains in the cottage and prepared for Christmas
Christmas morning Lena wore her mask of Green Tara and Jack the mask of the Green man and sang their way over to me with gifts and good cheer
After Christmas Lena tackled the garden, clearing it from months of neglect and preparing it so that i could plant
Jack concentrated on the tool shed organizing boxes and piles
And then....they made a New Years Eve party
We invited Mo’o and Jeff to come and we did some beautiful kirtan...welcoming in the New Year with a few moments of prayer and silence
The we donned the masks that Lena had brought. I wore Green Tara, Mo’o and Jack wore the Pele masks and Jeff was the perfect Green Man.
Lena gifted me with these fabulous sun glasses. Yep, 60 years old......I’m ready for the next chapter
