Music from the days before Rock lost its Roll.

Back in the 70s, while most kids were freakin’ out to psychedelic, funkadelic and disco,
one Bay Area band played music that
made people dance. Johnny B. and the Speedshifters was the band you
“re-mem-mem…re-mem-me-membered”
if you went to just about any teen club or
high school dance in the mid to late ’70s
in the San Francisco Bay Area. From
Saint Gabriel to Carlmont High, from Petaluma’s
Hideaway to good ’ol S.I., the Speedshifters were known as much for their

on-stage antics as for their own brand of rock and
and roll dance music. Loyal ’Shifter fans were
were treated to “Greaser of the Week” every
gig, where some lucky member from the
audience found out for himself how it felt to
have all his 70’s bushy hair greased back
back into a DA onstage. You can hear
Johnny B. and the Speedshifters again,
or for the first time, just visit our blog to
see where you can see us play. Come
listen to the greatest music from the greatest
era. From the days before Rock lost its Roll.
