ホームページへようこそ。私たちは家庭でお使い頂ける家具を、本物の木と伝統的な手法を用いて造っている小さなお店です。何百年もの時を経た技術を使い、１つ１つの家具を手造りしています。

　”伝統的な手法”とは昔から”伝統的”だったわけではありません。その時代の生活に合ったもの、そしてその実用性を生かしながら今日に用いられるようになったのです。今の私たちの生活スタイルにすべての伝統的手法が合っているわけではありませんが、木工職の中で使われているものもあります。

　ケニー家具工房では、その美しさと古来の人々による技術に深い敬意を持っています。そしてそれらを敬うだけではなく、その伝統を守り続けています。今日私たちが目にしている過去に造られてきた家具は古くからの職人の技術と手法の証しです。世代を超えて受け継がれていくような家具を造っていくことがケニー工房の目標です。私たちがこれらの手法や技術を使っているのはただコピーをするためではなく、古来の人々の作業がとても素晴らしいものだからです。長い時をかけ、その強さと耐久性がどの現代手法でも匹敵できないものであることが証明されています。私たちが家具を造るための技能を磨こうとするように、お客様には楽しみながら世代を超えて受けついでいってもらえることでしょう。

Welcome to our website. We are a small wood shop where we use solid wood and traditional methods to make furnishings for your home.  We use techniques that have been time tested for centuries and we make one piece of furniture at a time.

At one time "traditional ways" were not traditional but were dictated by the life and practicality of the times.  Not all traditions fit with our way of living today, but in woodworking these traditions have a place.

At Kenney Kagu Koubou we have a deep admiration for the beauty and the skill of the people who came before us.  We are continuing these traditions not only out of this admiration, but because these ways and techniques work.  The furnishings made in  the past that you still see today are a testament to the skill and techniques of the craftsperson of old, this is our goal at Kenney Koubou, that you see our work many years to come.

These methods and techniques are not copied for copy sake, we use them because they work. They have been time tested and the strength and durability are unmatched by any modern means.  And in this way we strive to hone our skills to create furniture that you will enjoy and will last generations to come.
