One piece at a time and done mainly by hand.  In the process we use a variety of different tools, Japanese and western planes, chisels, and saws. Some of our tools are modern and some are over 100 years old.  Rough planning, sizing, and squaring may be done with power tools. Joints, moldings, carvings, and wide surfacing are done by hand.
