day 2 (feb 8)

Today we had a screening at The Buckley School.. about 300 kids and the entire faculty listened to our 30 minute (yeah.. it was tight) presentation with great attentiveness and a positive response.  We were all surprised to see how many middle school aged kids ran out of the gym to grab letters to write to their senators.  Seeing that enthusiasm to become politically involved at such a young age honestly shocked me.

Quote of the day, from a 12 year old: "So does this problem stem from the time Idi Amin was in power?"

Wow.  Seriously?

The transition from living with 52 people in one house to four people in one van has been more or less smooth. It's definitely allowed us to bond more as a team.  I don't even know where to start with all that has happened between us. Just know that I'm obsessed. I can't imagine a better dynamic. The constant laughter and unforced vulnerability encourages me so much and excites me for what's to come.

We've been blessed with to have wonderful hosts thus far... We're SUPER grateful for Jed Jenkins who insisted we are unlike fish and therefore able to stay not three, but four days (that was a joke for IC people.. sorry for the confusion).  Anyway, he and I have been Facebook friends for awhile now so it was nice to finally make him a real-life friend.

After the screening, Jed and his roommate Stephen took us around Santa Monica. LA is such an amazing city with so many different areas to explore. I can’t imagine getting to see and experience everything, even if I lived there.

Needless to say, I really enjoyed it.

Lunch with Jed.. also where we saw the dad from 7th Heaven (ooo 7th Heaven).

Santa Monica.

Pink Berry= our new obsession.
