PMRjr’s Corner

If any of you really, really want to bug me so badly, then you are welcome, but you can not change my attitude, because I enjoy being who I am!

Smile..

Welcome to “PMRjr’s Corner”!

I hope you all will enjoy reading my blog often as much as you could, I know some of you wonder why does the blog named “PMRjr’s Corner”? Of course! That’s my initial name of Paul Murphy Robertson, Jr. and I put “Corner” which is a common word that you may see the news stand on the corner often or any person makes the news announcement on the corner as well.  Or perhaps, I believe that “Corne
r” reminds about the corner of  the Sevier County Courthouse where the stage stand was used to be, is one of my favorite landmarks in downtown Sevierville, TN outside of Knoxville area, where many people went there and chatted together for catching their news up such as some farm business, politics and other issues on every morning! However it is no longer there anymore since many good old people are gone then, and our new technology begins..  I could use my ASL on my vlog often much as I could.

What’s about me that you need to know? Ok, Please allow me to tell you about my background a bit, I am a native East Tennessean (Really.. I may be the Florida boy where I grew up, many of my friends know me in years), and was born in Knoxville and raised in Sevierville where the Great Smoky Mountain was nearby, but my family and I moved to Miami, FL in 1970, after my late parents decided that they put me in the Miami-Dade Public Mainstreamed schools instead of  Tennessee School for the Deaf, as being Oralism myself until I learned my beautiful ASL when I was in last year of the elementary school after my oral skills failed me and even my self esteem anyway.  I really enjoy using my ASL since.   During my school years, I still went to Tennessee EVERY summer with my family until my college years.

After graduating South Miami Sr. High School, I went to NTID for several years then transfered to Gallaudet University and graduated there with a B.S. degree  for Business Adm.   After my college years, I returned back to my true roots: my current hometown in Knoxville, Tennessee area.

Since returning to Knoxville, TN, I have been involved with my local Deaf community in East Tennessee for more than 15 years plus the state-wide community where I was President of Tennessee Association of the Deaf (2003-2007) and Deaf Tennessean Communication Director for www.deaftennessean.org  also I am the general Chairperson of Deaf Tennessean Expo as well.   I am a member of several organizations: National Association of the Deaf, Tennessee Deaf Campers, Knoxville Chapter of TAD and Knoxville Center of the Deaf for long time.  Even though I never graduated from Tennessee School for the Deaf, but I am a lifetime member of TSD Alumni Association for my full support. ( I am no longer a member of that organization due to the Carb Theory Issue..)

Now, we are beginning in the internet age in our present time, I would
love to debate anything about what I have my thoughts on Deafhood, Oralism, ASL, and Deaf communities of Tennessee and anywhere in the South and rest of the U.S.!  Then again,  you may notice this web site is made on a Mac,  Of course! I am always to be a Mac User since 1986, so therefore I am not interested to debate on Windows vs. Mac system since there is no question on any Apple products are still the BEST and  I am SATISFIED to use!
