This week the Plan-Langues presents Suzanne Vega. The American folk singer released a new album last July, called “Beauty and Crime”. For the launch of it, she performed in the online virtual world Second Life. But let’s go back in time with the song “Luka”. It appeared on the 1987 album “Solitude standing” and tells the story of a battered child. It was inspired by a little boy who lived near her at the time. She used to see him on his own, a little apart from the other children. He probably wasn’t an abused child but he seemed a little bit different and Vega drew her inspiration from him.
