Rae Ellen Bodie

Rae Ellen has been acting and teaching professionally for fifteen years. She’s been a Voice and Acting instructor at York University and the University of Calgary, and has taught workshops in Taos, New Mexico and in Cuba for Teatro Escambray. 

Rae was an Associate at the National Voice Intensive, and has served as Voice/Acting Coach on numerous Calgary and Toronto stage productions. 




Rae Ellen also works as a Dialect/Acting Coach in film and TV, most recently coaching Paul Blackthorne on the SCI-FI series “The Dresden Files”. She also teaches Voice/Acting classes in her downtown studio space.


       Her Toronto film and TV acting credits include recurring roles on “Queer as Folk” and “This is Wonderland”, and in the feature film All You Got. Onstage she appeared in “Ota” for Theatre Ephemera; The Old Neighbourhood for East/West Theatre Company; “Lemon Water” for the Summerworks Festival; and DWARF for Equity Showcase Theatre, under the direction of David Rotenberg.


       Rae Ellen holds an MFA in Acting from York University, with an additional Diploma in Voice and Speech. She has studied with some of the best instructors in Canada and the US, including: David Rotenberg, David Smukler, Paul Lampert, Gary Logan, Rod Menzies and Judith Koltai. Her teaching is based in the Linklater method of Voice training, her studies with her Master Teachers, and, primarily, the trial-and-error of her acting experience.
