We had a wonderful trip to the beach despite Tropical Storm Gabrielle, Dalton’s trip underwater, and a few sunburns.
We went to the beach with 3 other families... 8 adults and 9 kids! It may sound like a crazy idea, but it was not. We had a blast. We had a huge house. And after we put the kids to bed each night, we made some yummy dinners!
Thankfully, Gabrielle brushed the NC coast and only spit on Holden Beach. And even more thankfully, John saved Dalton from drowning. The sunburns were minor. Much to my surprise, Dalton was back in the water in no time. And Lauren, the other 5-year-old, even taught Dalton to dunk his head under. Not to be outdone by her big brother, Lexie was dunking her head too.
They loved the waves and the sand! Jessica slept most of the time. (When Miss Narcolepsy decides to wake up, we may feel like we have a third child. Stay tuned... ) Maybe this time next year, she will be running around like a loon with the rest of them. For now, she needs her beauty rest.
