Clay Studio & Gallery
. . . a working studio and retail art gallery located in La Veta, in South Central Colorado. The studio-gallery is owned and operated by clay artist Nicole Copel and her husband Brad Atchison. The gallery features clay artists from our own Huerfano County, from around Colorado and across the nation. In the gallery you will find individually created pieces for daily use and artful living.
As a working clay studio, you are welcome to visit our facilities as well as take classes with us and workshops from featured artists. The gallery hosts art openings, showcasing guest artists on Memorial Day weekend and also during our Bastille Day celebration in mid-July in addition to participating in other local events. La Veta has an active arts community year-round that includes the visual arts, music and performing arts.
(See our Art Opening Schedule below)
The studio-gallery is located at 221 North Main Street, La Veta, Colorado. Summer hours of operation are from 10 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday or by appointment.
La Veta is nestled at the base of the 13,000 foot Spanish Peaks on the edge of San Isabel National Forest. The town of Cuchara, a mountain community in the heart of the Cuchara Valley, is a 20 minute drive south on Colorado’s scenic “Highway of Legends”.
