SIMPLE TWO SCOPE MOUNT
I used a Meade DS single arm mount for this, the bracket can be modified for any type mount. You will need two Swift binocular tripod adapters, available from Focus Camera. A piece of aluminum .125 thick, 6" wide, 3" high. Two 1/4 20 thumb screws and one 1 1/4" 1/4-20 round head screw, with two washers, two lock washers, and two nuts. Drill a 1/4" hole 1 1/4" from the left and 1" down in the piece of aluminum. If using a DS mount drill four 9/64 holes 1" apart in a square. Starting 1" in and 3/4" down on the right side of the aluminum. Take a 1/4 drill bit and drill out the threads on the lower 1/4-20 holes where the 1" screw goes on the binocular adapters.
Mount one binocular adapter to the aluminum plate, with the 1" screw going through the 1/4 hole on the left side. Use the two bottom holes, on the adapters, that have been drilled out. Add washer, lock washer and nut to screw. Install one thumb screw in the top threaded hole on this adapter. Tighten everything up. Mount the other adapter up against the nut on the screw, add the other washer, lock washer, and nut to screw. Install the other thumb screw on this adapter. Tighten everything up. Mount the plate to the mount. I used the screws that were removed when I took the clamshell off.
Connect your two telescopes to the adapters. Center an object in the telescope on the right, eyepiece end, using the mounts controls. Loosen the nut on the 1 1/4" screw a little, and the thumb screw on the left telescope that you did not center the object in. Center the object in this scope. Check both scopes, if object is centered in both tighten down nut and thumb screw. Enjoy.
