“A Great Success”
On Saturday 18 March 2006 Kirkham Grammar School played host to five of the most respectable schoolgirl hockey teams in England and Scotland at their annual U19 National Invitation Hockey Tournament.
Millfield, Bromsgrove, Stockport, Strathallan and British Colleges joined Kirkham to compete in yet another memorable day of hockey. Millfield School performed superbly on the day, winning every game and finishing out and out winners. However, this was to be expected from such a prestigious sports school with several international players. All the other teams were very evenly matched with only one goal deciding each game. Kirkham, the home team, played some terrific hockey and the highlight for them was a convincing win over the British Colleges U19 team.
The day was once again thoroughly enjoyed by all. Kirkham Grammar again proved that they could compete against some of the strongest teams in the United Kingdom.
