TVR Cerbera Sports Exhaust

A quiet Cerbera may seem like an anathema to a Cerbera owner but a more powerful Cerbera is no anathema! The SP Sports Exhaust takes a different approach to other sports-type systems in that it has not been designed to be loud. In fact, in order to stand a fighting chance of being allowed on a track day, the noise level has been reduced. The SP Sports Exhaust has been tuned for power and sound quality. Having said that, a typical level of around 98dB at cruising speeds is by no means quiet.

Eschewing the “make it big and make it empty” school of thought, the SP Sports Exhaust makes use of years of exhaust design data. For general driving, the noise in the cabin is sufficiently suppressed for easy conversation but when the revs rise the system emits a deep and unmistakable multi-cylinder roar. The system makes the Cerbera much more pleasant to live with on journeys, yet it loses none of its savage appeal when driven hard.

The key to the exhaust’s performance is the complex rear silencer. It is fabricated entirely from durable stainless steel, with a pair of slash-cut, polished and engraved 3.5” tailpipes. The SP Sports Exhaust is a full system in two parts: the pipes from the manifolds to the rear silencer; and the rear silencer. The pipes are linked at the front with a detachable cat bypass section (enabling catalytic converters to be removed/replaced as desired). The ‘linked decats’ section is properly fish-mouthed and the pipe bore is set for optimum gas flow, the result of development. The SP silencer attaches to the car in exactly the same way as the original silencer for easy alignment with the slots in the rear valance.

POWER: In conjunction with Track Car Solutions induction tuning and engine mapping, cars fitted with the SP Sports Exhaust have achieved outputs of 420bhp (4.5) and 440bhp (4.5 Red Rose).

NOISE LEVEL: The static noise level at 4,000rpm is typically 98dB.

Rear silencers fit to existing systems as a direct replacement for the standard TVR rear silencer. In order to supply the correct diameter link pipes between the SP rear silencer and your standard exhaust pipes please state which model of Cerbera you own (4.2 / 4.5 / Speed Six).
