Philippe Vaucher was born and raised in Montreal, Canada, where he obtained a B.F.A. in film animation from The Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema, Concordia University.
In 1998, he won the National Film Board of Canada’s contest: Cinéaste recherché. He was thus able to direct and animate The Song-Catcher/Chasse papillon (11 min.) at the N.F.B..
Since the film’s release in 2001, he’s freelanced as a storyboard artist, illustrator and animator.
He’s also taught animation and storyboarding at a variety of educational institutions, such as The Icari Institute and Concordia University.
He completed the music video: Red & Blue (5 minutes, Watercoulour/ink) for classical-jazz violinist, Mireille Proulx in 2005.
Philippe Vaucher has just obtained a Masters in Media (Animation) at the University of the West of England in Bristol, where he completed the film Wuji animated using sand-on-glass.
Recently, he directed the Happy Song, a music video for British mind coach, Don Macpherson.
