Situated 100 miles from Boston Mass and 25 miles from Portland Maine Biddeford Pool is a promontory consisting of seven hundred twenty acres at latitude 43.445 and longitude 70.341 in York County.  The pool is one of the largest lagoons in North america and is the habitat of much wildlife and fauna.

Philip Bermingham

Photographer Philip Bermingham is a native of England and first visited Biddeford Pool in 1989.  He was enchanted by the quality of light in Maine and for almost twenty years he has photographed the Pool and its residents. His photography of Maine is on display at Hatties’ Restaurant at 109 Mile Stretch Road.  He is a portrait photographer based in Washington DC. He travels extensively to the caribbean in the winter and Nantucket, the Hamptons and Maine during the summer. His specialties are portraits of family and children.
