Hello everyone!
Life has been a bit busy again - my wife’s been away, and we’ve had the builders in (they’re still here, making a mess), so I haven’t had much spare time. I have managed to get on with a bit of painting from time to time though, and have finished two of my new small-sized auxiliary cohorts. I’m not sure they aren’t too small though - they don’t look as good as the earlier 24 figure units (which I’m using to represent the bigger, 800 man ‘milliary’ cohorts). The alternative is to use 24 figures to represent the small cohorts, but then the big ones will have 40 figures - which seems a bit large for my table. It’s a quandary, and one to which I have no good answer yet. Someone suggested using a figure:man ratio of 1:25 instead of 1:30 or 1:20. Haven’t quite got my head around that idea yet!
Painting is by my now usual methods: white undercoat; bright base colours; Army Painter ‘Strong Tone’ Quick Shade, painted on; Testors DullCote to kill the shine; basing by my usual method. Shield transfers are by LBMS.
Anyway, I hope you like them, and that they whet your appetite for the plastic auxilia, which should be going on show this weekend in the Warlord Games newsletter - and at Partizan at Kelham Hall, Newark on Sunday.
