Amy & Sandy

Galloway born fiddler Amy Geddes has been a stalwart of the Edinburgh session scene for some years and is now at the forefront of contemporary Scottish fiddle playing as a performer, teacher and composer.

Edinburgh born guitarist Sandy Wright, is in great demand as a session musician both in the fields of folk and jazz and has played various genres of music all over the planet.

Together, Amy and Sandy have forged a charismatic playing partnership which has created a great musical combination.

A recent review of the ALP Music Group commented “Amy has an individual approach to playing tunes, with an undeniable but equally unidentifiable Scottish accent. She creates an intricate performance of even the simplest of traditional tunes. Sandy combines bass motion with simple harmony to brilliantly and subtly bring out the best in a melody”.
