AGENCY REPORTS:

California Highway Patrol Officer Rick Miler: Two fatal accident on Sierra Hwy, both victims had just left the VFW hall on Sierra Hwy.  Miler also informed the Council there is a big pot hole in the Agua Dulce Shopping Center.  Be careful, it is deep.

LA Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Short:  Short told the Council only 12 reports were filed last month, down from the previous month  One burglary, 5 paper crimes, one of those was embezzlement: 1 vehicle burglary, and lost properties.

LA Co Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Ferrell: The Department is increasing their enforcement by three 2 man cars and a sergeant.  They will rotate between Santa Clarita and Antelope Valley.  The Sheriff’s Department has been working on clearing the trailer parks in Soledad Canyon of the criminal element.  La Fiesta RV Park (cypress park) has been sold and is going to reopen as a park similar to Thousand Trails.

LA Co 5th District Rosalind Wayman:  The meeting between Acton Town Council and Agua Dulce Town Council regarding boundaries was very productive, said Wayman.  County is calling a meeting hosted b y Regional Planning that will be open to the two town councils and the general public.  It will give the impacted residents a chance to voice their opinions and desires into which community they want to be represented by.

Acton/Agua Dulce Library will hold their groundbreaking ceremony on october 29th at 10:30 am.

Coussoulis Project - 319 homes on 904 acres:  The plans are in engineering.  The design for the entire project will be submitted to County, although the tract ill be built in phases.  Recordation of maps will be about August of 2008.  If the economy is good, the development will start in spring of 2009.

Corresponding Secretary - Marilyn Garner:  ADTC received letters regarding:  Vasquez High playing football games at Agua dulce Airport.  The Council supports it.  A letter regarding Vasquez High Homecoming Dance at Agua Dulce Airport on November 3rd from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

Election Committee: Candidate Forum on october 14 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  Prior to the Forum is a bake sale at 3:30 pm.
