Kyle elementary is a unique structure with several areas enclosed from the public. These areas have been under-utilized and in some cases unattractive. Our goal is to take advantage of these areas by making them aesthetically pleasing as well as educationally functional. Our project consists of several phases. Phase 1, the courtyard area was completed by parents, students and staff in May of 2008. Phase 2, the aviary/chicken coop was completed in August of 2008. Phase 3, the vegetable garden area was completed in May 2009. Our last phase of the initial scope of the project is the area next to the Kimbro building. This phase received funding from the Hays Education Foundation in the fall of 2009 and is almost complete.Project Summary
