August Earth CSA
August Earth is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm that produces organic vegetables. We supply our members in Central Minnesota with a weekly box of seasonal produce. We strive to also provide a place for members of the community to learn about and experience what goes into growing the food we eat by encouraging them to visit and/or volunteer at the farm. This direct interaction gives us, the producers, a better idea of what our consumers want, and gives the consumer more than they could ever get by merely buying produce trucked into a supermarket.
In 2004, August Earth supported 25 member shares in the Duluth/Superior area where we worked with The Food Farm, an established certified organic CSA farm. Peter and Katy bought a farm site in Hutchinson, MN in October of 2004, very excited to start a new CSA with the surrounding communities. August Earth uses organic methods in all steps of producing your vegetables. We are inspected and certified by MOSA (Midwest Organic Services Association).
