The Something For Nothing Players

Welcome to the official Web site for the . . .

This is the Web site for the Something For Nothing Players, a musical theatre company from Lawrence Academy in Groton, Massachusetts. Every March, as part of our school's  Winterim program, we learn a 45 minute musical for children in one week. Then during the second week we take the show on the road throughout southern New England. We give around 14-16 performances in 6 days at elementary schools and childrens’ libraries. 2010 was our eleventh annual tour and our show was an adaptation for children of L. Frank Baum’s novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Michele L. Vacca, with music and lyrics by our co-director Peter Hazzard.

We present our musicals at no charge to the schools and libraries. From year to year the students remember our brightly colored backdrop which was made by the first SFNP troupe in March of 2000. The following pages provide a glimpse of the 2010 rehearsal week with a day-by-day story of the tour following. You can also click this link to learn more about our school.
