We offer a wide variety of electric violins, and we also do custom work. We work to communicate with our customers to create an instrument suited for their particular needs. Each instrument is hand crafted in our shop, from select woods for superior performance.
Violin Body
The EVL electric violin bodies were designed to give the player all of the benefits of an acoustic violin. The instrument is engineered carefully so that the chambered body weighs and balances the instrument to feel like an acoustic. They also play like, or better than, the acoustic violin. We use the same woods and techniques to create our instruments that violin makers have been using for centuries. We believe this makes our instruments stand to a higher quality with increased playability.Pickup
We designed our own pickup system for our instruments. We use a piezo-ceramic material, that is well shielded and is fit into the bridge. This is a passive system that delivers a rich, full sound. Recently we have moved towards Schatten pickups for a warmer acoustic tone and recommend this for true professional quality sound. Barbera pickups are also available upon request.Options
Violins may be purchased with several features. Base model orders have the options of body type, and color/finish. Extra options include sunburst paint jobs, mechanical tuners with a guitar style headstock, frets, or different pickups. Please ask if interested in MIDI or Octave configurations. Violins may be purchased with 4, 5,or 6 strings. Electrics are now available with Viola lengths (including configurations with E strings) and 3/4 sizes, please contact us for more information. We also have acoustic electric violins available. All violins come with a featherweight case and a removable shoulder rest attachment.We also take custom orders
