This website should give you all the information that you need to undertake a two or three day walk around the highest mountain in Wales and England. The walk will take you through three very contrasting valleys, Dyffryn Peris, Nant Gwynnant & Y Gwyrfai. The walking is always good and changes in nature constantly. The views are never ending and here the landscape is history, the bones are barely below the surface.
There is no guidebook and the route does not officially exist but any competent map reader can see in an instant that the route is there, on the ground. It is all legal using footpaths, bridleways, forest tracks, access land and open countryside to wind its way around the mountain.
You may want to mark up a map or even add a few of the grid references to a gps. It is not impossible to get properly lost but you are always within the confines of a valley and the roads are never far away.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD A PDF CONTAINING THE ENTIRE ROUTE Draft of the Book V7.pdf . Information on where to stay, eat and purchase equipment try the Snowdonia-Active website with its searchable accommodation and adventure databases.
If you download the book please could you do me a small favor by returning to the site at a later date and leaving me some feedback? I am very open to ideas and suggestions as to how I might make it better, it is very much a work in progress. Images are coming next when I get a free day or two.
