Pete and Missy

True love is so powerful. It can not be adequately described by words or pictures. But when two people experience that magnificent connection, their souls become one and their hearts are connected for eternity. I was blessed to experience this with Pete, before his time with us was cut short on November 14, 2007.

Though he departed from this earth all too soon, I can speak for many in saying that Pete lived more in his 26 years than most people do in a “full” lifetime. He echoed what it means to live a life of faith, passion and grace - one focused on the eternal, not the temporal. He helped pave the path to where I stand today, and I thank God for every breath we shared together.

While I will never be able to verbalize the vibrancy Pete lived with, I hope that the following pages provide a glimpse into Pete’s precious life. For those of us that had the pleasure of knowing and loving Pete, may you find comfort and joy in your memories with him. For those of you who didn’t know him, I hope his story inspires you as much as it has those he directly touched.

With faith and love,
Missy

"Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."  Joshua 1:9

"When I die, give what's left of me away to children and old men that wait to die. And if you need to cry, cry for your brother walking the street beside you. And when you need me, put your arms around anyone and give them what you need to give me. I want to leave you something. Something better than words or sounds. Look for me in the people I've known and loved, and if you cannot give me away, at least let me live in your eyes and not in your mind. LOVE DOESN’T DIE; people do. So, when all that's left of me is love, give me away." - Merrit Malloy
