Penryn RFC U 16’s currently have a squad of 24. Many of the players have been with the club since U 8 level, but any joining players are always made to feel welcome. This includes Matt, Ben and Andrew who have recently joined us. Also welcome back to Shaun.
At the end of last season the team travelled to Wales to participate in ‘The Welsh Festival of Rugby’ during an entertaining weekend, including a tour around the millennium stadium, six games were played. The lads eventually made the plate final and all returned home with their trophies (and quite a few with no eyebrows!) We wont mention anything else that happened, as this would cause embarrassment. As the saying goes “ What goes on Tour stays on Tour”
As well as a full fixture list the U 16’s start The County Cup pool games on December 9th. There are seven pool games this season culminating in the finals on April 20th. The last fixture of the season and the end of junior rugby before the lads join the colts will be The County 7’s on 27th April.
The U16’s train on Wednesday evenings 6 – 8 p.m. under the watchful eyes of Guy, Jason and Paul. Games are on Sundays kick off at 11 a.m. Enthusiasm is always high and the lads put in a lot of effort the results of which are seen during their games. The season has got off to a good start with 3 wins from 4 games. Well Done lads.
We wish everyone all the best for the coming season
