Mr Hughes (Headteacher)

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to say how proud I am to be joining Penketh High School as Headteacher.  I am excited at the prospect of getting to know the whole community and helping to build upon the excellent work of Mr. Fishwick in leading a vibrant and caring school.

As I take up this challenge, I would like to state how important it is for me that every member of our school community accepts the contribution we all must make in order to ensure the highest standards in all that we do.

In showing we are proud to belong to Penketh High School, I want to make it clear from the very start that I will insist on our pupils wearing full uniform and on wearing the uniform correctly at all times.  I also believe that regular attendance and good punctuality show commitment and reliability and that both are essential for success in any walk of life.  I look forward to your support in ensuring high expectations are met.

I very much want our pupils to enjoy the outstanding opportunities that we seek to provide at Penketh High School and I will do my best to provide quality and excellence.  I also want to say, however, how important it is for all learners to accept the critical part they play in terms of bringing a positive attitude and a desire and commitment to be the best that they can be.  In this way, a strong partnership is built between the school, child and home and the foundations laid for strong study habits and lifelong learning.

As we continue to develop a school of which we can all be proud, I want to assure you that Penketh High School will remain an open, approachable and caring community with the interests and success of our pupils as our number one priority.  If there is a need, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of the staff.
