This page has been produced to help you get through your exams as easily as possible. Hopefully it will help do that.
Remember the teaching and support staff are here to help you, we want each and everyone of you to succeed.

Your candidate number and centre number will be given to you in plenty of time before your exams. Once you receive it as an added reminder you could write them in the space provided

If you need to photocopy any missed notes or laminate any aspects of your coursework this can also be accommodated.

 


 

Examination instructions

Listen to the Invigilator and do what you are asked to do.
Tell the invigilator at once if you think you have not been given the right question paper or if the question paper is incomplete or badly printed.


Read carefully the instructions printed on the question paper and/or the answer booklet. Do what they ask you to do.


Fill in the details required on the front of the question paper and/or answer booklet before the start of the examination.


Do your rough work only on the proper examination stationary. Cross it through and hand it in with your answers.


Information

Know the dates and times of your examinations.

Arrive at least ten minutes before the start of your examination.

If you arrive late for an examination, report to the invigilator running the examination.

If you arrive after the examination has ended, you will not normally be allowed to take it.



Plan revision

Make sure that all your notes are in order and up to date.
Find out the dates and length of each exam
Draw up a revision timetable and stick to it.


Preparation

Obtain copies of the syllabus/past papers/revision guides.
Read through your notes, highlighting or re-writing key words/phrases.
Aim to work in 45 minute stretches, taking 15 minute breaks.


Before each exam

Re-read through your notes but take a quality break.
Make sure that you have all the equipment needed.
Make sure that you have a light snack and drink before each exam.



In the exam

Read the instructions carefully, do the right number of questions.
Plan your time, allocate enough time for each question you must answer.
Don't panic.


At the end of the exam

When you think you have finished, check through for mistakes and complete any unfinished answers.
Cross out any rough work you do not want to be marked.
Ensure that all diagrams have titles and are fully labeled.

If you want help with revision/coursework ask one of your teachers, they can and want to help.

There are lots of resources in school to help with revision PLEASE ASK FOR SOME.

If you're having problems finding somewhere quiet to revise at home we can help within school. Check out notice boards for revision clubs which take place during and after school.

Advice and assistance

If on the day of the examination you feel that your work may be affected by ill health or any other reason tell the invigilator.
If during the examination you have a problem and are in doubt about what you should do, e.g. you feel ill, you need more paper etc. put up your hand.

You must not ask for, and will not be given, any explanation of the questions.
