Careers Information, advice and Guidance is a cross curricular activity and is consumed within all aspects of school life. It is managed by the Advanced Skilled Teacher for Warrington and Cheshire and is a busy forward thinking, enterprising and professional area of the school.

IAG starts in Year 7 with an introduction to the “World of Work” with an understanding of, the development of a ‘progress file”. A more interactive programme begins in Year 8 with "The Star” activity. This is a module which allows pupils to look at life more realistically and become more self aware.

As part of the schools “Learning for Life” course, the Year 9 Careers Programme concentrates upon the choice of subjects that will affect different career paths. The changes brought about by the new 14-19 Curriculum has allowed much more flexibility for pupils and greater opportunities for Vocational study and work based learning.

Pupils of all years have opportunities to attend "drop in" sessions, with counseling from Impartial Connexions Personal Advisors, helping to develop a further understanding and insight.

Careers education in Year 10 looks at ways of "being an effective person" and "Employment". During this time, pupils look at the world of work and have the opportunity to take part in a two week, work experience placement.

In Year 11, pupils are introduced to interview techniques through a Mock Interview process conducted by local employers and training providers. Time is given to discuss employment/training and education at 16 and careers interviews are offered to all pupils.
