The numbering system used in the “Hammer Hands” lessons helps new players find the notes. The most important thing about playing any musical instrument is learning where to play the note indicated in the music, or if playing by ear, where to find a specific pitch on the instrument. The numbering system uses lines above and below the numbers to indicate the LEFT TREBLE BRIDGE, the RIGHT TREBLE BRIDGE, or the BASS BRIDGE.
The next segment will illustrate how to play 3-note chords on the treble bridge. Later, we’ll add some rhythms to these same chord shapes.
