Rehabilitation
The athletic trainers will cover all home (school and state sponsored) athletic events. At events, the athletic trainers will provide water along with pre-event, event, and post-event assistance. Prior to competition, taping, stretching, and exercises will be available in the athletic training room. In the midst of the event, the athletic trainer will monitor the activities and provide appropriate care of the participants. All events will have ice available. At no time will the athletic trainers provide care beyond the scope and role of an athletic trainer.
During practices, athletic trainers will be available in the athletic training room or on the field. Available before, during, and after practices, the athletic trainers are available for stretching, heat, rehabilitation exercises, injury care, taping, and ice services. At the conclusion of the final team practice, the athletic training room will be closed for the rest of the day. On days where there are no practices or games, the athletic training room will be closed.
Upon being injured, athletes need to perform various exercises to increase strength, stability, and coordination of the injured area. The athletic trainers will develop and assist athletes in performing the appropriate exercises. Rehabilitation will assist athletes in returning quickly to the field of play. Under circumstances of a surgery or under a physician’s care, athletes will be required to show a doctor’s note allowing the athletic trainers to provide rehabilitative services.

Treatments
Some athletes may require an application of ice packs or heat packs to aide in their recovery. These treatment protocols do not require a note from a physician. However, the use of our ultrasound and electrical stimulation unit require the note from a physician.
