Monday, June 23 - Pre-Convention Day

3:30 PM - 10:00 PM My Old Kentucky Dinner Train. Extra Fare. Load bus at Galt House main lobby starting at 3:00, bus leaves at 3:30. ~ Return for a while to another time. A time when life was slower and travel was by rail. An era when elegant dining cars offered a place to enjoy relaxed conversation, fine cuisine and gracious service against a backdrop of ever-changing scenery. Board My Old Kentucky Dinner Train and experience for yourself that wonderful bygone era. The menu will consist of Chicken A la Provencale, Shrimp Scampi, or Prime rib. The bright red and silver of the R.J. Corman FP7’s lead the way as your meal will be prepared on the train in a fully equipped kitchen car.  info

Tuesday, June 24 - Pre-Convention Day

8:30 AM - 4:00 PM Steam Excursion at the Kentucky Railroad Museum and Bourbon Distillery Tour. Extra Fare. SOLD OUT Load bus at Galt House main lobby starting at 8:00, bus leaves at 8:30. ~ Recapture the romance of the local passenger train when it was small-town America's link to the world. Enjoy a 22 mile train excursion through the scenic and historic Rolling Fork River Valley on a restored passenger train pulled by an authentic steam engine, L&N Pacific #152. Then visit one of Kentucky's finest bourbon distilleries - either the Jim Beam or Heaven Hill Distilleries will be your destination for this exciting look at a Kentucky tradition. There we'll learn about the history and unique qualities that define bourbon. From mash to distillation to aging we'll learn how this process produces a liquor that is known and desired around the world. Maybe we'll even learn what happens to the "Angel's share".

Due space limitations, those wishing to visit must ride the tour buses.  info

All auction items must be submitted on Wednesday between 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM to the auction committee at the registration area in the Galt House.  There is a limit of 2 items for the silent auctions and 2 items for the live collectable auction. Only the primary registrant may submit items.

Loading starting at 6:00 on the riverfront wharf, the Belle leaves at 7:00 ~ a National Historic Landmark and a beloved symbol of our city, the steam powered Belle continues to grace us with her presence at the very site she visited so often throughout the early 1900’s. With the playing of her calliope, the Belle, now in her 92nd year, continues to beckon one and all to join her on a journey back to the time when she carried passengers and goods to ports all along the beautiful Ohio River. A tour of the steam boiler and engine room is a must.  info

Galt House Archibald/Cochran, seating at 6:30. ~ We gather in the Galt House Archibald Complex for perhaps the highlight of all convention events – the banquet. Wonderful food, great fun and fellowship, guest speakers and the ever-popular raffle. Raffle tickets will be sold on-site at the Convention from Wednesday at registration until the Banquet on Saturday, at which time the raffle winners will be announced. info  A Special Micro-Trains gift car is offered to those who attend. Menu is The Port of Louisville Buffet: Roast Baron of Beef with au jus and horseradish sauce; Pan Seared Salmon with a pesto cream sauce; Andouille Chicken topped with a sauce of Andouille sausage, green peppers, onions, garlic and tomatoes. Fresh vegetables, assortment of salads, warm rolls, dessert station, coffee, iced tea. info
