Welcome!  I began Steinhauer Pianos over ten years ago because I witnessed the sudden explosion of growth in the manufacture of poorly-made Asian pianos.  I saw the confusion in consumers' eyes and I felt it my duty to make the piano buying process easier.  Being a piano industry veteran for nearly 40 years back then, I had a wealth of knowledge on all aspects of piano construction and craftsmanship.  I saw that some of the instruments, such as today’s Steinhauer, were made properly and to stringent quality standards, under the supervision of world-class piano builders.  Others however, were more like "piano-looking objects."  Many factories sprung up overnight and disappeared just as quickly, giving overnight training to local farmers and carpenters and calling them piano builders.
