Living in Northfield, MN, most of my images are of this town: its architecture, its gardens, its people, and the two colleges, St. Olaf and Carleton. The farms and countryside of southeastern Minnesota are also favorite subjects. My camera is a constant companion, so recent images include scenes from Boston, southern California and Colorado.
The world is incredibly rich visually. All things are in some way beautiful, interesting, or humorous. As a photographer I watch for those moments when the light is just right, or the juxtaposition of patterns is fascinating, or the color scheme is irresistible, or I perceive humor in the scene. The more I look, the more I see, as all things ordinary are in some way extraordinary.
My photographic greeting cards are sold in The Kaleidoscope (Northfield Hospital gift shop), the St. Olaf Bookstore, the Northfield Arts Guild Shop, and The Hideaway (Northfield). Purchases are possible via e-mail: contact me at patsydew@mac.com or by phone, 507-663-7900, or on-line with the use of a credit card (click on “On-line Orders”).
I participated last fall in the South Central Minnesota Studio ArTour, (October 15 & 16). Check out the ArTour website for more information about the 2012 ArTour.
