RACHEL CARSON 3.4 miles moderate to difficult ( Blaze color yellow)
Trailhead located off of Park entrance road right leg of “Y”, on Woodchuck Drive. Sights include, woodlands, conifer stands, large south pond, wildlife observation blind, Rainbow Bridge stream crossing just above Rachel Carson Falls, spectacular views of Allegheny River 400 feet below Park, Watts memorial observation deck with views of Armstrong, Butler and Westmoreland Counties.
SCOUTS 5.0 miles moderate to difficult (Blaze color red)
Trailhead located right side of Woodchuck Drive across from Baneberry Grove. Entire Park is encompassed by this trail. Sights include woodlands, conifer stands, large south pond, community soccer fields, stream crossing just above Rachel Carson Falls, spectacular views of Allegheny River 400 feet below Park, Watts memorial observation deck with views of Armstrong, Butler and Westmoreland Counties, secluded small north pond, champion hardwoods, meadows, wetlands and Boy Scout’s campfire circle.
WETLANDS 2.1 miles moderate to difficult (Blaze color green)
Trailhead located left side of Chipmunk Drive across from parking lot. Sights include stream crossings, wetlands, champion oak, various hardwoods, meadows and spectacular views of Allegheny River 400 feet below Park, the small town hamlet of Freeport, views of Armstrong, Butler and Westmoreland Counties.
WOODLANDS 1.3 miles easy to moderate (Blaze color purple)
Trailhead located left side of Cottontail Drive just before Watts Grove. Sights include small streams, champion birch, various hardwoods, meadows, the Environmental Learning Center and the highest point in the Park above the Watts and Overlook Grove meadow.
SPICEBUSH 1.2 miles easy to moderate (Blaze color white)
Trailhead located right side of parking lot just below Bobwhite Grove. Sights include four Park Groves, and Boy Scout’s campfire circle, hardwoods, stream crossing, scout’s campfire circle, spice bushes, of course.
POND LOOP 1.4 miles easy to moderate (Blaze color orange)
Trailhead located at south end of parking lot past Rachel Carson Grove. Sights include woodlands, conifer stands, large south pond, wildlife observation blind, peaceful streamside walk and Girl Scout’s campfire circle.

CREEKSIDE 0.6 miles easy (Blaze color blue)
Trailhead located left side of parking lot across from Bluejay Grove. A peaceful meandering streamside walk, stream crossings, grassy plots under canopy of large hardwoods, a favorite hotspot for birders, designated as part of Audubon Society’s Important Birding Area No. 22.
