Welcome Friends & Family

2007-08

Greetings All!

I created this website so that I could share a bit of my life in Minnesota with family and friends, near and far.

My life is ordinary, but I sure do love it!  I’m not the most consistent blogger, but I try to give updates each month.  I’m easily inspired by animals, baked goods, the outdoors, good books and a lovingly-made cup of coffee.

Thank you for visiting me!

Love, Karensa

Minnesota Fall

Every day is a god, each day is a god,

and holiness holds forth in time.

I worship each god,

I praise each day splintered down,

and wrapped in time like a husk,

a husk of many colors spreading,

at dawn fast over the mountains split.

- Annie Dillard, Holy the Firm

On the day after his promotion to salad-maker, Candelario Marroquin painted the door of his house a robin’s egg blue.  The color blue was an obsession for him.  Since his youth he had found comfort in the special blueness of new mornings.  The azure stars that edged Our Lady’s mantle inspired him almost always to pray.  And the glinting cobalt of the sea produced in him such excitement that he was forced at times to turn his back on it.  “When it comes to blue,” his wife Chayo said, “who can understand him?”

- Sandra Benitez, A Place Where the Sea Remembers

Please visit me at my new Website for 2009.  This one was getting a little long in the tooth and had some bad links.  Hopefully the new one will be easier to navigate.  Happy New Year!
