I love giving Kate money and this is why...

Kate is our sons day time nanny and we hired her before even meeting her. She is a God send whom we trust and love. How many of you come back to work at the days end just to spend time with the people you work with or the people you work for?

Want to know why? She knows we love her and she could not do a better job of loving us and our son.
We thank God for Kate.

so i am in the middle of song writing and creating when I have a second. My wife and Son support me. My friend Tim showed this video. If you are a struggling artist this may encourage you a great deal, but on the other hand it might cause you to give up ever trying to “make it.”

Rewriting my Rewrites

So this is the last day that I will be a bachelor for wuite some time. What am I doing in my “time off?”

so, I am rewriting hymns and trying to order my world. I am recording the desktop of my computer so that I have a record of the happenings. Anyways, that is all for now...

so, I was just sitting in a staff meeting and to my left sat one of my bosses and he presented a question to the table that he recently read.

“How much of our church services would be go on if God did not show up?”

I am on staff in New York city at a growing church. i am also completely arrogant in thinking that New York holds the current pulse of the rest of the world. From Broadway to Wall Street, the world looks on, as New York and New Yorkers are setting the pace. But, regardless of where you are and regardless of where you serve, ask yourself what the focus of your gatherings happens to be. Is it people, is it programming, or is it you? God is so attractive, but are we making him an attraction?
These are thoughts directed mainly to my own heart and not meant to cause divisiveness.

I know that coffaholic is not a word. I know it is not a word because I never heard it ONCE in the entire semester I went to community college. You might be wondering why this picture of me...a...oh no...christian?!?!?....smoking a cigar is in this blog.

So, I am in the Memphis Airport. I am here because of my grandfather’s funeral. As I am walking through the airport I am remembering the wonderful deal that my wife found which gave me my plane tickets and a rental car (to “escape” everything if you know what I mean) for super cheap. I am remembering how cheap it was because it required me to get to the airport around 6 AM. So, As I am walking through the airport getting all checked in I see Einstein Bagels. It took me back to my high school youth because New York does not have Einstein Bagels. So, I get nostalgic and then all of that fades away because in the distance I see the Mecca. Starbucks. Yes, I still like Starbucks. All my New York friends are now (because so many people in my NYC circle of friends read blogs) emailing or texting me the local place I HAVE to go to to get coffee because of taste, fair trade, or some other crap. When I saw the bucks I might have, just might, maybe, or could have let out an excited swear word followed by a “yea!” under my breath.
So, right then in there, I found that my Grande Peppermint Misto (thank’s Ted) habit might be a bit out of control.

ORRRR...?

I am gonna go all “LOST” on ya...

Is the WORLD out of control, and my Grande Peppermint Misto (thanks Ted) the only thing that is actually helping me order my inner AND outer world? Think about it...
