I don’t offer ponder 3:20 a.m. At least I try not to. But I probably was doing so last year on this date as well. Probably, similarly at a gas station then too! Of course, the walk of faith always begins with a long drive.
This year though is a bit different, a little more fun, a little less cramped, because this year we chartered a bus! So, anyway, SweetanLo, SweetLy, and #1 Son and I boarded a bus with 40-some other soon-to-be-bleary-eyeds to being our trip to Faithwalkers West, which is only West when compared to Faithwalkers East. Although as Sweet-an-Lo is fond of pointing out, it’s really more like we are attending faithwalkers East while others attend Faithwalkers-even-more-East.
Anyhoo, we got about 45 minutes out of town when we found ourselves stuck in line behind a line of trucks who were stuck in line behind a bad accident. So really our “faithwalk” began, not even with a faith drive, but merely a “Faithwait!” Although come to think of it may walks of faith begin precisely that way don’t they?
Well, not much else to report. We waited for a little over an hour (which other reporters on the bus, less scrupulous than yours truly are already claiming was “at least 2 hours!”
Blessedly, everyone slept (or pretended to) for the next couple hours, once we got moving again. But now we are stopped at a truck stop and of course, once we stopped, everyone woke up and began to talk.
#1 son has returned to his sketch pad, and Sweet-an-low has returned to chatting with her friends. (Their two favorite activities).
Everyone else seems reasonably happy and sane. No one has been left at the stop amd we appear to be on our way again! Of course I have no internet so I’ll post this later, but I thought I’d post it so you could get my 3 a.m. bleariness in all it’s glory
Ok, Mentorman just announced over the microphone that “We’re leaving now, so if you’re not here, but are supposed to be, say AY.” 3 a.m. bus trip humour.
And of course, the correct answer by the entire bus is “AY”
Catch you in a few hours.
