Finished version from the 1996 compact disc HUMAN INTEREST STORY
We shot this in early 1995, many months before George Dobbs joined the band. The finished version on cd features George on lead vocals rather than Robert James (as seen here). There is a lot of concept footage not included in this edit. I (RJP) edited this version using only footage of the band’s performance and none of the story line shot at the same time with two actresses. Stephanie Raye makes an appearance in the video singing her lines in the chorus. A large crew was involved in this shoot which included lots of lighting, dry ice, dolly shots and other film techniques. It was shot at Roger Germinder’s family’s summer house. Geoff thought this was our “hit single” so we went with this as a video but for 10 years it lay on tape, never edited. I rectified this situation by raiding Geoff’s vaults and I edited this in Apple’s Final Cut Express in 2005.
