The Swiss Garrison, proudly serving the 501st Legion, was founded back in December 1998 by three Troopers as the first 501st Garrison in Europe. For the last 9 years, the garrison constantly grew and has now 29 members.

2007 was the Celebration Year for STAR WARS. 30 Years since the 1st STAR WARS movie came out and started a legendary tale of Jedi Knights, Sith Lords and of course the famous Stormtroopers in their desperate fight between good and evil and the destiny of a galaxy far far away.

Albin Johnson, the founder of the 501st Legion had a vision back in 1996 during the re-launch of the STAR WARS Special Edition movies, that each and every fan could have his place in the STAR WARS universe. With his Stormtrooper armor he appeared at  a local movie theatre. With this appearance, he started something, which no doubt, evolved into something, well, something big. From one Stormtrooper to over 4000 members worldwide in almost every country within 9 years. To be chosen by LucasFilm to march at the 2007 Rose Parade in Pasadena USA was as great as it could possibly get.

Below you see the Swiss Garrison’s 10 Year Anniversary Patch which was released December 21st, 2008 with a limited edition of 100 patches.

Many great events took place during those last 10 years, and we were able to create a worldwide network of friendship and fun. Where ever you might go on this planet, there always is a 501st Trooper around to hang out with.
