“The Digital Bridge”
“The Digital Bridge”
Over 20 years experience in marketing, sales, product and business development (focusing on strategy & execution) in the field of publishing, media, internet and mobile communications technologies.
As the founding, managing director, of Aldus Canada, I had the great privilege of helping lead the Desktop Publishing revolution in North America during the late 1980's. Working closely with Apple, IBM and wide range of various technology and distribution partners. I coached and directed the efforts of an extremely talented team to market, sell and support Aldus PageMaker software and a wide range of related products and services.
During the 1990's I served as Apple Computer's Worldwide Channel Manager for Publishing, Entertainment and New Media at their corporate headquarters in Cupertino California -- focusing my efforts on Apple's core creative markets. In the late 90's I joined RealNetworks (pre-IPO) in Seattle, WA to help them build a world class channel sales group to market the emerging category of internet streaming media solutions, products and technologies to a broad range of corporate and big media customers. Today RealNetworks has an installed base of over 300 million unique streaming media clients worldwide.
In 2000 I caught the entrepreneurial bug (still trying to shake it!) and helped launch Toronto based "Streamcheck", the first B2B, ASP, technology firm to provide "Quality of Service" (QoS) Performance Metrics to the rapidly emerging streaming media industry. Clients like Microsoft, Disney, AOL Time-Warner, MTV, CNN and many others found our service invaluable. Streamcheck was subsequently acquired by publicly traded Keynote Systems of San Mateo, CA
in June of 2003.
From 2002 through 2006 I had the great privilege of serving as EVP Business Development at 2 different and unique start-ups with the same business partner / CEO / Chief Scientist, Cyril Houri (Paris/NYC).
→ Infosplit:
a internet, geo-intelligence services firm (patent pending technology that can identify the geographical location of a web IP number to the zip/postal code level with a 99.9% level of accuracy) which was acquired by
Quova in Redwood City, California who serve Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft with the same technology.
→ Mexens Technologies / Navizon
home of "The Navizon Wireless Positioning System” for handheld devices, a revolutionary technology that blends GPS/WiFi/Cellular positioning technologies together to deliver “location awareness” to handheld mobile devices such as PocketPC's, Smartphones, Cell Phones, RIM Blackberry devices and now the Apple iPhone.
Currently I’m serving as EVP Business Development
(also cofounder/CMO) for Swarmteams, an innovative wireless core technology and digital marketing services firm (“fan & audience engagement across mobile and web platforms”) located in Toronto and Belfast N.I. We’re currently in the process of marketing and implementing customer solutions based on our unified, 2-way,
multi-channel global group messaging platform
that enables and fosters “engaged communities”
