The Weasel
 
For my last salt firing of the summer, I decided to introduce roadkill into the kiln. We stacked the entire kiln, inserting lobster claws and clam shells. Then, I went for a drive and scraped a freshly killed weasel off the surface of Rt. 1 a few miles from Watershed. The weasel was placed on a platter and candled overnight, (stinky!!!) ultimately firing to cone 11.    The firing of the weasel was an exciting and unforgettable experience. Hopefully, I’ll do another roadkill firing next summer, with some larger mammals. Some before and after pictures:
