Can you imagine the excitement that the Lima community must have felt with the opening of the first railroad through the town?  Up until this time, travel was limited to the Miami and Erie Canal or by horse and wagon.  The steam locomotive changed the way that Americans lived, worked, and traveled.  What modes of transportation in the 20th century had a similar impact on Americans?
