Some of the greatest entertainers in the history of this country performed at the Faurot Opera House.  This may have been due, in part, to Lima’s location and accessibility by rail.  After World War II the Faurot Opera House was utilized less and less and it was eventually torn down in the early 1950s.  What changes in American culture may have contributed to the declining use of the opera house?  What role did the automobile play in the development of new travel destinations and family recreation?
