Yes, the dream is over. Starting Sunday I will be reentering the work force, having been offered a job at the Embassy in the Fraud Prevention Unit. Why, you may ask, am I interrupting my blissfully relaxing retirement happiness for the stress packed, decision filled, uncertainty crammed hell that is the workaday world? Well, for one thing, tennis season is drawing to a close, and I have an opening in my schedule. Also, this is a great job. I’ll get to travel around the country doing investigations (similar to what Aleta has been doing); improve my Bangla; and better be able to ferret out and inform you, dear reader, about hitherto undiscovered cafes and tea stalls which undoubtedly are there to be found in the hinterlands. Wish me luck. lk
