I suppose it’s hard to do a credible review of a Japanese/Korean restaurant without having tried the sushi or bulgogi, but here goes. For Dhaka, Samdado is one fine Japanese/Korean restaurant. Three rickshaws fine, in fact. The ambience was very un-Dhaka like, the service was great, and the food pretty good. You have to like a place which brings four free appetizers, - spicy cucumber, slaw, saucy soybeans, and soup. I had the tofu bento box, and Aleta, the udon tempura. My only quibble was the bento box repeated two of the four aforementioned appetizers, which were good, but I would have preferred a little more variety. Adding in a large bottle of water, the total tab for two for dinner, including VAT and tip, was $18.15. This concludes Dhaka Dhining. Look for us this fall, as the Moscow restaurant scene is laid bare. lk
