    It has been the custom of the Mercer County Spinners and Weavers Guild to meet informally on Thursdays every other month. Meetings will be  at Munnell Run Farm except for our annual fall Natural Dye Workshop.  For driving direction to Munnell Run Farm try this web site for info:   http://www.munnellrunfarm.org/
 
Bring your spinning wheel, spindle,  knitting or other needle craft to work on.   Bring your lunch and  plan on having a peaceful day at the farm to get some work done on a project

 Weaving Workshop 101  Saturday April 11 & June 13  
 
    This will be the first of a two part workshop on weaving this year at Munnell Run Farm.  The first part will be about planning for weaving and getting the loom warped.  The second part will be at the June meeting when we will discuss finishing  weaving techniques and problem solving.
 
Bring a small loom that needs to be warped along if you have one and we will help you get it ready to weave.  You can also just come and watch Nancy warp her loom or get help planning your next weaving

Looking back at our first year meeting at Munnell Run Farm
 
 
Our first year of meeting at Munnell Run Farm went very well.    At  every meeting we saw  new and old members come and join our little group for an afternoon of sharing skills and passing on old traditions.    With a poor economy and job loss increasing, in 2009 more folks may want to learn traditional crafts to make garments for their family and perhaps bring in a little extra income.    Twila Armitage one of our founders passed away in 2008. November 13 and November 21 & 22 Meet at Munnell Run Farm
 
 I just wanted to remind everyone the Mercer Area Spinners and Weavers Guild will meet for our meeting Thursday Nov.13.   This will be a spinning and knitting meeting with no program othe than bringing ideas to share for holiday gift making.
      Our group also has two tables reserved for the Munnell Run Farm  Holiday Craft Show.  Please mark your calendar and plan to come and sell your handmade stuff or just come and bring a spinning wheel to spin and help with the show.  The Farm sells

Members will gather at Munnell Run Farm Education Building from 10 -2  on October 12.   No special program will take place.  So just bring whatever you want to work on.   We will not have our annual basket workshop that was planned for this meeting.   So bring your wheel, or knitting or weaving or whatever you need help with.    Our meeting are open to the public.  Everyone with an interest in fiber arts is welcome.  Bring your lunch and join us for as long as you can.  You need not spend the
