Pictured above on the right is a picture on Judy explaining her braided rug techniques to Bonnie. There is always something new to explore with this group. You never know what someone will bring to work on at the Thursday meetings. On the left are a couple pictures from Munnell Run Farm Day. Lynn was working on weaving a basket and she also displayed her skeins of the Natural Dyed Yarn from our Natural Dye Workshop.
It is the custom of the Mercer County Spinners and Weavers Guild to meet informally on Thursdays every other month. Meetings are at Munnell Run Farm For driving direction to the Farm try this web site for info: http://www.munnellrunfarm.org/
Meetings begin at 10:00 AM and go till around 2:00 PM If you are a busy person and cannot spend the whole day with us we understand. You are always welcome to stop by for a short visit and check out what we are up to.
Bring your spinning wheel, spindle, knitting or other needle craft to work on. Bring your lunch and plan on having a peaceful day sharing your skills and getting some work done at the farm. You are welcome to bring a project that you need help with. Folks here are always ready to give you creative ways to solve any seemingly impossible problem. This is one of the reasons we enjoy getting together. I have met so many wonderful people and learned so much.
We welcome anyone who wants to learn about spinning, weaving or knitting to join us. There is always someone among us that has the answers to most of the problems that are brought to us. We are always interested in meeting new people and enjoy teaching and passing on skills to all ages. If you are new to the fiber arts all we ask is that you are willing to devote the time needed to learn a skill.
We will not meet in December. Our first 2010 meeting will be Saturday January 9 at the Farm. I hope to have a newsletter in the mail to you before then with a rough outline of our 2010 programs.
Have a great Thanksgiving and Christmas. I hope you get all your gifts made on time and have a wonderful holiday season filled with family, friends and warm wooly handmade things.
Please email pictures of what you are working on for next newsletter. Program suggestions and news items too!
